The Pharmacy Control Technician performs material disinfection, cleaning of the cleanroom complexes, and inventory management to support daily production and service our patients.

Essential Job Duties

Under the direct supervision of the Manager/Supervisor, IV Prep Technician and receiving direction from assigned staff pharmacists, this position is accountable for those pharmacy services which require skill and training, but do not require professional judgment including:

  • Maintaining a state of control within all cleanroom complexes by performing cleaning activities of controlled areas and equipment.
  • Disinfecting all materials and inventory needed for medication compounding in accordance with company policy and procedure.
  • Ensuring cleanroom complexes are adequately stocked with materials and inventory to facilitate all compounding activities.
  • Is available for necessary Full, Remedial, and Additional Cleaning(s) scheduled at the discretion of pharmacy management or as required by environmental/mechanical events and findings.
  • Employee must: Adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined by management, USP guidelines, and other regulatory bodies. Observe proper aseptic technique at all times. Adhere to proper sterile gowning procedures when donning sterile coveralls, sterile mask, sterile goggles, and sterile gloves.
  • Other job duties and special projects as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • High School diploma or equivalent; Experience working in a pharmacy setting; Basic computer knowledge.
  • Must communicate effectively both verbally and written; Demonstrate an attention to detail; Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Must be dependable in attendance and job performance and be flexible with work schedule.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, see, hear; use hands and fingers regularly, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.

The employee will repetitively lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. In addition, the employee will be required to safely maneuver wheeled carts with up to 1,000 lbs. of cargo.

Salary Range
