SAFY is seeking a full time Peer Specialist (Mobile Crisis) for our Aurora division in Colorado.


As a Peer Specialist, you will be responsible for the assessment, development, and ongoing case management of a family caseload. The Mobile Crisis Team serves Arapahoe, Douglas, Adams Broomfield. and Boulder counties.


You will be expected to work (3) 12-hour shifts.

What You’ll Do

  • Provides support to Mobile Crisis Team members during assessments/evaluations that are completed in community settings.
  • Assist in the assessment of a client’s behavioral health status and provides evidence-based intervention strategies.
  • Provides telephone and short-term face-to-face interventions to help stabilize people in crisis and prevent further criminal justice involvement, or hospitalization when possible
  • Performs a wide variety of non-clinical tasks to assist clients in regaining control over their own lives and recovery process, in partnership with Mobile Crisis Responders, Leads or Shift Supervisors.
  • Documents all patient contacts and other clinical information.
  • Supports the Mobile Crisis team with community outreach, resources, and education.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Peer Support Certification required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy or other approved related field of human services preferred.
  • Entry level peer specialist experience required. At least one year of experience as a Peer Specialist preferred.
  • One years of relevant experience preferred in the field of mental health/therapeutic intervention with children, adolescents, families, and older adults/geriatric.
  • Additional training and/or certifications in trauma informed care, HIPPA, substance use, etc. preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record and auto insurance coverage to meet travel requirements; may require transporting youth if needed.


What We Offer

  • Targeted hiring range: $41,000-$47,000
  • Compensation is commensurate with transferrable experience, education and licensure of candidate, location of the position, along with internal equity and budgeted amount for the role.
