Payroll Specialist(Canada) -- Remote | WFH

### Job Summary:

Are you passionate about ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time? We're looking for a Payroll Representative who will play a vital role in our payroll team, working alongside our Lead Payroll Analyst. In this role, you'll be responsible for processing, auditing, and delivering payroll for our shared service, ensuring compliance and accuracy throughout. You'll be using Workday for US payroll and time tracking, and ADP WorkforceNow for Canadian payrolls. Your commitment to excellent customer service and satisfaction will shine as you support our payroll functions.

### Scope:

  • Position Type: Individual Contributor (no direct reports)
  • Reports To: Senior Payroll Manager

### Education and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years supporting time and payroll systems in a large corporate environment.
  • Knowledge of Canadian wage & hour, garnishments, and payroll taxes at both federal and provincial levels.
  • Experience with Workday HCM/Payroll/Time Tracking and ADP WorkforceNow preferred.
  • American Payroll Association training (CPP certification is an advantage).

### Responsibilities:

#### Payroll Processing (80%):

  • Analyze and resolve payroll issues related to tax, general accounting, regulatory requirements, benefits, time reporting, and labor agreements.
  • Identify, analyze, and recommend improvements for payroll processes.
  • Develop, run, and review audit reports to ensure payroll data accuracy.
  • Process manual checks, voids, stop payments, direct deposit reversals, and payroll adjustments.
  • Ensure payroll systems and processes comply with country/province regulatory legislation.
  • Maintain payroll-related content for the Employee Services Knowledge Base.
  • Support payroll system patches and upgrades through testing.
  • Assist with research and compliance of Canadian regulations related to labor and tax laws.
  • Document and update departmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform various audits and review employee data schedules.
  • Manage payroll processing and Time and Attendance for multiple companies using 2 ADP Payroll systems for hourly and salaried employees in Canada.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure accurate payroll completion.
  • Coordinate closely with accounting teams.

#### Communications and Customer Support (20%):

  • Train HR Services team on payroll processing and time and attendance updates to ensure first-call resolutions.
  • Conduct user training for HR as needed.
  • Serve as Tier 2 Payroll support within the HR Service model, addressing and resolving employee pay issues while ensuring high customer service levels.
  • Meet service level agreements (SLAs) to maintain strong relationships and high customer satisfaction.

  • Job Type: Full-time, Contract
  • Pay Rate: $25.55 - $34.00 per hour
  • Expected Hours: 35 per week
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Work Setting: Remote
