Your Impact:

Pearce Services is seeking a skilled and motivated Payroll Specialist to join our rapidly growing team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll, maintaining payroll records, and assisting with payroll tax administration for employees across the United States. Payroll Specialists will have the opportunity to work overtime as needed. The Payroll Specialist will be assisting our team remotely.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll with the support of the payroll team. Manage large quantities of data in Excel for payroll imports/exports.
  • Audit new hires set up in UKG to check for accuracy. Perform audits on various aspects of payroll.
  • Maintain employee timecards, including researching issues and making corrections.
  • Assist employees with updating W-4 and other payroll-related information as needed.
  • Assist with tax registration setup. Collaborate with UKG to resolve any tax-related issues or updates.
  • Respond to verification of employment and payroll record requests in coordination with the human resources department. Work with the human resources department to ensure timely processing of terminations, including closing out all applicable payroll systems promptly.
  • Handle payroll-related mail, including setting up garnishments and conducting benefits audits. Address payroll questions, concerns, and errors promptly.
  • Ensure accurate setup of benefits deductions.


Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.


Core Experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of direct processing payroll in a team setting
  • Strong computer skills including working with enterprise level software and MS products
  • Associate degree HR/Business Administration or relevant field is preferred or 5 years’ experience as a Payroll Specialist.
  • Experience working in a payroll department as an Administrator or Specialist, with processing experience for large organizations preferred.
  • Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.

Compensation: Pay Range - $25.00-$30.00 hourly/DOE
