Payroll Specialist



Position Overview:

At Bloom, we are dedicated to revolutionizing the insurance industry through innovation and excellence. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual that will provide crucial support to ensure the smooth functioning of our payroll operations. Responsibilities will include processing payroll and accurately inputting data. Additionally, you will assist in addressing employee inquiries and resolving any payroll-related issues that may arise.

We are looking for an exceptional individual who can:

  • Support the smooth functioning of our payroll operations.
  • Process time and attendance to ensure timecards are reviewed and approved by the time of payroll processing.
  • Prepare payroll by accurately inputting necessary data and auditing information for accuracy.
  • Utilize ADP Workforce Now software to prepare and submit biweekly payroll
  • Prepare and finalize payroll, address timecard queries, and manage email and support inquiries.
  • Prepare, process, and generate Holiday reporting.
  • Generate various payroll reports on a bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis
  • Support the processing of off-cycle manual checks, as needed.
  • Partner with Human Resources on employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.
  • Collaborate with the HR Service Team to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate benefit deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with wage garnishment requirements by completing necessary forms and adjusting payroll records.
  • Ensure accurate payroll processing, handle PTO and garnishment inquiries.
  • Assist with Travel & Expense reimbursements as needed to setup for payment.
  • Assist with the auditing and processing of bonus and incentive requests.
  • Adhere to established payroll procedures and processes, ensuring data integrity and assisting in troubleshooting data issues.
  • Maintain compliance with statutory reporting, reconcile discrepancies and support audits
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality for all payroll-related items
  • Serve as a backup in the absence of the Payroll Manager
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Finance, or Human Resources or related field or 4 years of experience in lieu of degree
  • 2+ years payroll processing experience required
  • Experience using ADP Workforce Now and Payroll system preferred
  • Experience working across multi-location (U.S. local and state) payroll taxes


Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong computer skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including VLookups and Pivottables
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, time management, follow-up, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to pursue multiple objectives and initiatives, analyze complex issues, and facilitate change
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Ability to use discretion when working with highly confidential information
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Comfortable in a rapidly growing environment with evolving organizational needs
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to have a flexible work schedule due to work volume fluctuations
  • Proficiency in mathematics
