Printpack, a specialty packaging company, is seeking a motivated Payroll Analyst with demonstrated experience in high volume payroll processing for 3800+ weekly (hourly) and/or biweekly(salary) associates. This position will be responsible for ensuring timely processing of weekly, bi-weekly, bonus, and off-cycle payroll.


Accurate preparation of payroll related journal entries is required. Experience with multi-state payroll tax, relocation expense, and garnishments is required. The successful candidate will be expected to manage the company payment card program, balance payroll reports, ensure proper funding of the payroll account, provide timely response to payroll inquires, and assist internal and external clients with payroll requests.


Minimum Requirements & Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-10 year’s work experience in Payroll/Accounting
  • Workday experience/training required
  • High volume multi-state payroll processing for weekly and bi-weekly employees in large organization
  • Garnishment Processing
  • Journal Entry Preparation
  • Relocation Processing
  • Basic understanding of financial and accounting concepts
  • Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented and task-focused outlook
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment
  • Working knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Key Responsibilities & Competencies

  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in Workday payroll system.
  • Manage entry of authorized manual payroll requests into Workday system.
  • Ensure proper retention of supporting documents for reference and audit purposes.
  • Validate and balance payroll data through review of payroll reports.
  • Prepare payroll related journal entries for manager review.
  • Take initiative to accurately identify refunds or returned payments.
  • Ensure accurate and timely funding of payroll accounts.
  • Process and maintain all involuntary deduction orders (garnishment, child supports, and levies)
  • Assist in processing employee relocation expenses.
  • Maintain company payment cards ensuring cards are valid, properly logged and tracked.
  • Respond to current and former associate’s communications regarding pay, withholdings, W-2 requests or other relevant inquires.
  • Participate in year-end reconciliation and preparation of W-2s.
  • Participate in general ledger, relocation, and 401K reconciliations.
  • Work with Payroll Manager on enhancing and maintaining standard operating procedures manual.
  • Maintain a cross-functional relationship with Human Resources to ensure the information needed to process payroll is delivered timely and accurately.
  • Complete assigned projects; prioritize work and meet expectations and deadlines while demonstrating attention to detail.
