Jefferson Consulting Group is seeking Payroll Administrator to support Mission Support Team. This role will be remote.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute the semi-monthly payroll processes accurately and on time for an organization of 200+ employees
  • Review and verify timekeeping records for accuracy and completeness
  • Post labor costs to the appropriate cost centers or projects
  • Coordinate efforts between HR and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data, including preparation /distribution of detailed reports
  • Handle employee administration within electronic time keeping system (Jamis)
  • Reconcile labor batches against payroll journal entries
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports and filings as required
  • Proven experience as a payroll administrator or similar role, with a strong understanding of payroll principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of government contracting requirements and compliance issues related to payroll
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations, especially those relevant to government contractors
  • Add new employees into accounting software, and maintain/ensure employee data is accurate and up to date
  • Prepare, process and ensure the accuracy of all year-end payroll requirements
  • Process accruals
  • Manage state registration process
  • Assist with ad-hoc financial reporting, reconciliation and analysis as needed
  • Assist in administrative and other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Experience with multi-state payroll administration
  • Three (3) plus years in payroll performing all payroll functions
  • Knowledge of multiple-state taxation is a must
  • Excellent skills using MS Word and Excel
  • Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll system
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with large scale payroll process
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with JAMIS, Paychex or ADP preferred
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification
  • Experience with implementation of a new payroll system preferred
