Job Title: Payments Specialist

Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payments Specialist to join our team. As a Payments Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing payment processes within our organization or for our clients. Your role will involve managing payment transactions, resolving payment issues, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of payment processing, including incoming and outgoing transactions.
  • Monitor payment systems and platforms to ensure efficient and accurate processing of payments.
  • Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, disputes, and chargebacks in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, financial institutions, and payment service providers to streamline payment workflows.
  • Conduct regular audits and reconciliation of payment records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Stay updated with industry regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices in payment processing.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, security, and cost-effectiveness of payment operations.
  • Provide support and guidance to internal stakeholders and customers on payment-related inquiries and issues.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., AAP, NCP) may be advantageous.
  • Proven experience (X years) in payments processing, financial operations, or a related role within the financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of payment systems, methods, and regulations (e.g., ACH, wire transfers, card payments, PSD2).
  • Familiarity with payment processing platforms and software (e.g., SWIFT, PayPal, Stripe).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
