Payment Operations Analyst

As a Payment Operations Analyst, your task is to manage the primary payment channels for Varo Bank. A successful analyst will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing scalable operational solutions to put Varo Bank in a position to succeed. Aspects of the payment operations function focus on the timely and accurate record keeping of Varo Bank accounts through monitoring and reconciliation of monetary transaction activity, and the identification and remediation of transaction-driven customer issues.

What you'll be doing

• Responsible for monitoring file origination, receiving, processing, and reconciling ACH activity
• Ensure accurate and timely posting to internal accounts
• Validate and balance ACH posting to the Federal Reserve account
• Responsible for processing,  screening, and reconciling incoming and outgoing wire transfers
• Responsible for processing and reconciling multiple vendor partners and correspondent banks
• Monitoring cash balances and reconciling each day's cash position
• Provides ad hoc reporting and analysis as required and monitors ACH risk
• Provides written/verbal notification to other financial institutions, third-party service providers, and internal departments for correction and reversal of entries
• Establishes and maintains files to ensure proper handling in order to limit bank liability
• Partner with Varo teams to ensure customer accounts and associated processes impacted by system enhancements, upgrades, and/or updates are tested with the Core Banking system
  

You'll bring the following required skills and experience

• 2+ years of experience in the financial services industry in payment processing (ACH/Wires/Card/Checks) 
• Knowledge of bank policy, procedure, products and regulations, and compliance (ex. Reg E, Reg CC)
• Must be detail-oriented, with strong organizational and implementation skills
• Ability to adapt to fast-paced and rapid changes
• Ability to multi-task and handle unexpected delays or events while maintaining constant attention to details 
• Must be able to resolve problems and improve processes quickly, effectively, and professionally
• Maintain the highest level of confidentiality with information relating to the bank, its customers, and employees
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a treasury operations environment preferred
• Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) Certification a plus

For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all US-based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Per applicable law, the salary range for this role is $45,000 - $65,000. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors as well as candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the identified range.
