BCT Cast Products LLC, a division of Blast Cleaning Technologies, Inc. (BCT), has a full- time Foundry Technician position available. This is an in-person position that requires interdepartmental work completed in the team atmosphere and environment at our West Allis, WI facility.

Blast Cleaning Technologies is one of the fastest growing shotblast manufacturers in the world. Located in the historic renovated Allis Chalmers building in West Allis we are proud to announce the expansion of our manufacturing to include a new state-of-art Cast Products facility which is also located in West Allis. Our new Cast Products facility will feature the latest technology for the precision casting of shot blast wear components as well as utilization of new eco-friendly products that will create a cleaner working environment. We are looking for motivated Foundry technicians ready to contribute to all areas of our plant to create a truly remarkable, world-class facility.

General Description

Under the direction of the Foundry Project Manager, the Pattern Maker will work as an integral part of the Foundry group. The Pattern Maker will be responsible for the manufacturing of new or rigging of existing tooling for use in sand or wax. The individual's expertise will ensure that best practices are followed while producing tooling both efficiently and cost effectively. The individual ensures that materials required for pattern making are on-hand just in time for manufacturing.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Set up and assemble tooling for machining operations.
  • Use various materials and tools, such as hand routers, drills, calipers, planer, jointer, CNC routers, and 3D printers to craft precise patterns essential for molding.
  • Utilize expertise to manage inventory of materials and tools.
  • Program 3D printers using Simplify 3D software for pattern production.
  • Perform CAM programming using Fusion360 for machining operations.
  • Train and mentor colleagues in the art and techniques of pattern making.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to optimize tooling designs for manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct quality checks on patterns and tooling to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tooling setup and operation.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in pattern making techniques.
  • Ensure the completion and maintenance of all required paperwork, documentation, files, records, etc.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with a commitment to quality outputs.
  • Demonstrated expertise in pattern making, tooling setup, and machining within a manufacturing environment. Foundry tooling experience is a must.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, specifically Fusion360 and Simplify 3D.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication with other departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to produce accurate patterns and tooling.
  • Sense of urgency and ability to achieve results.

Education And/or Experience

  • Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience in a pattern shop or machine shop for a manufacturing environment required.
  • Proven experience and understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, techniques related to pattern making.
