We're seeking a dedicated Patient Services Representative to join our healthcare team in the beautiful coastal town of Seldovia, Alaska. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in a rural healthcare setting, serving as the first point of contact for our patients and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Provide exceptional customer service, greeting patients warmly both in person and over the phone
Manage patient registration, scheduling, and cashiering duties
Ensure accurate and up-to-date patient information in our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
Maintain strict confidentiality of patient health information
Assist patients with form completion and explain office policies and procedures
Coordinate interpretation services for ESL and ASL patients
Manage office supplies and nutraceutical product inventory
Assist with various administrative tasks, including travel arrangements for providers
Participate in staff meetings and ongoing training to stay current with administrative and billing functions
Work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Must be at least 18 years of age
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong customer service orientation with a patient and attentive demeanor
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn new software quickly
Experience with practice management software and EHR systems preferred, but training provided
Basic understanding of medical terminology and anatomy preferred, but not required
Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Flexibility to occasionally travel between clinic locations during the training period
