Position Summary
PFS Manager– Every effort has been made to make your job description as complete as possible. However, it in no way states or implies that these are the only duties you will be required to perform. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or is a logical assignment to the position.
This position serves as Adirondack Health’s primary contact for patient/insurance reimbursement issues in accordance with established policies and payer. Responsible for assisting with analyzing, researching and trending toward the resolution and reduction of credit balances and balance discrepancies. The manager will work with management to create and run various reports out of PFS applications for data mining. The manager must possess accounting principles. This position will assist in cash posting and billing when necessary and is required to be familiar with payer contracts. All communication is conducted in a manner that will result in positive patient relations and prompt reimbursement for services. The manager will be responsible for completing evaluations for staff employees in a timely manner in accordance with hospital policy. The manager will be responsible for setting goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with Adirondack Health’s servant leadership mission and vision. Responsible for organizing workflow and ensuring that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks. Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching.

Required Minimum Education: BS in Business or related field is preferred. Microsoft excel experience is required.
Required Minimum Experience: Minimum of one-year experience as a supervisor in a medical facility or Minimum of one year experience with the various business office processes, such as bad debt, payer requirements, and must be able to understand and interpret payer explanation of benefits. Proficiency in operation of computer terminal and personal computer equipment. Able to communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills and ability to interact with patients and insurance companies to explain payment policies.
Required Skills: Must possess a strong background with reporting and advanced knowledge with Microsoft excel. Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving with a “take charge” attitude.
Must be comfortable interacting with various management levels. Demonstrated professionalism and flexibility to work schedules based on need.
