Patient Care Assistant (CNA)

We have an opportunity for a PRN Patient Care Assistant (CNA/ Certified Nursing Assistant) on our Inpatient Unit. This is a PRN night-shift/weekend position that will be expected to work 700pm to 700am.

The Patient Care Assistant (CNA) assists in the delivery of patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This includes but is not limited to

• Provides direct patient care and performs routine tasks as assigned.
• Organizes and prioritizes workload minimizing/eliminating undue delays, blacklogs, or disorder.
• Time management incorporates purposeful rounding; hourly during the day and every 2 hours during the night, anticipating patient and family needs jointly with the RN.
• Must consistently demonstrate caring and appropriate behavior when interacting with patients and families.
• Monitors the activities of patients and maintains a safe physical and psychosocial environment.
• Able to adapt to changes in workload or patient assignments.
• Assists patients as needed in attending Child Life Activities and special events.
• Ensures patient care areas are neat and clean.

Requirements

High School Diploma /GED

Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in state of SC required

Basic Life Support (BLS) - or obtained within 3 months

Some nursing assistant experience

Current full vaccination status

Preferred

One year of pediatric nursing assistant experience
