We will consider candidates at either the PAR1 or PAR2 levels for this position. Requirements for each level noted below. Salary is based on years of relevant experience and level of position.
Salary
PAR1: Starting wage is $18.10-$24.89 per hour, depending on experience
PAR2: Starting wage is $19.27- $26.50 per hour, depending on experience

Position Summary
The Emergency Department Patient Access Representative provides customer-service coverage in emergency department locations of Asante and assumes the responsibility for successful financial outcomes of all patient services. In this role, the ED Patient Access Rep is also responsible for thoroughly and accurately describing the various compliance and regulatory documents that Asante is required to present to patients - while always being aware of maintaining patient relations, customer satisfaction, and Asante's financial solvency.
Duties
Under the general supervision of the Patient Access Supervisor, the Patient Access Rep performs imperative duties, including but not limited to:
Appointment scheduling
Registration and insurance verification
Telephone coverage and data entry
Filing protected health information (PHI)
Patient referrals and point-of-service collections
Qualifications
Education
Associate's degree in business, healthcare, or related field is preferred
Experience
PAR2
Minimum 1 year of experience with 2080 fulfilled hours in Patient Access Rep level 1 role or equivalent.
PAR1
Previous patient registration experience - OR - related customer service, administrative, and/or data entry experience, is required
Licensure/Certifications
Certified Healthcare Access Associate through the National Association of Healthcare Access Management, preferred
