Responsibilities

Einstein Phila Campus- Every other Weekend/Every other Holiday 4p-12a

Primary Function

Register patients seeking treatment/care at the Medical Center, primarily outpatient, emergency and admissions services. The registration creates a patient number to be used for charging and billing purposes and begins a medical record for documentation of medical care and treatment. Arrange for the efficient and orderly admission of inpatients and admission of individuals who have hospital-based outpatient testing or procedures. Ensure that patient information is collected and that patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures. Interview incoming patient or representative and enter information required for admission into computer database. Distribute appropriate information to ancillary departments. Participate in performance improvement and QA activities.

The goal of this position: to register the patient with courtesy and efficiency, to create a registration with information that is accurate and complete both for the medical needs of the patient and to meet all necessary requirements to ensure that the account can be billed timely and paid promptly.

Qualifications

Education/Training/Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent required.

1-2 Years’ Health Care Related Experienced Preferred.

Good typing skills, personal computer experience, medical terminology preferred.

Excellent Customer Service Skills Required.

Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson’s clinical entities or at the University.
