Responsibilities:
Oversee and participate in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications globally.
Conduct patent analysis and prepare opinions on infringement, validity, and freedom-to-operate.
Develop strategies with R&D and Product groups to enhance patent portfolios and support product development.
Provide client counseling through active participation in R&D and cross-functional team meetings.
Identify research opportunities that may lead to patent applications.
Conduct educational seminars and courses on intellectual property for clients.
Collaborate with outside counsel on opinions, ensuring effective communication and accurate information gathering.
Requirements:
Degree in Electrical Engineering.
J.D. from an accredited law school.
4-6 years of experience in a law firm and/or corporate environment.
Admission to a State Bar.
Admission to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
In-depth knowledge of semiconductors and power electronics.
Experience in the preparation and prosecution of U.S. patents, as well as in the preparation of infringement, validity, and freedom-to-operate opinions, and client counseling.
Preferred but not required: Experience in transactional/licensing.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
