We are working with an impressive group of IP practitioners who are looking for a top-notch patent agent for their electrical and computer practice area. This is a highly-respected IP group and has been steadily expanding as they continue to attract sophisticated work from a wide range of clients.
The focus of the work will primarily relate to the preparation and prosecution of patents for domestic and foreign clients while also supporting practice needs in other related areas (e.g., patentability, infringement, validity, and freedom to operate opinions and related analysis; portfolio strategy and management; due diligence,).
Notably, this is a very team oriented, friendly, and cooperative environment wherein your talent will be matched with opportunity and responsibility. In particular, associates are entrusted with substantial client interaction and must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
Here, you will be exposed to a diverse array of electrical and computer related applications (industrial and consumer electronics, analog and digital circuits, RF, WiFi, digital video, wireless telecommunications, network protocols, IEEE standards, network security and protocols, cryptography, artificial intelligence (AI), web and cloud services, etc.)
Patent Agent Requirements
Minimum BS Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Physics. Prior engineering experience is a plus.
USPTO bar.
Must have at least 3 years of full time claim drafting and patent prosecution experience with a reputable law firm.
Strong academic credentials
Since this practice deals with domestic and international clients, dual fluency is not required, however, such fluency in Chinese, Japanese, or Korean would certainly be of value.
