Job Summary: A Pastry Chefbakes various desserts in a kitchen within a restaurant or bakery. Their main duties include following recipes to create pastries, cookies and other baked goods, developing new and unique recipes to feature on the menu and keeping stock of the kitchen's inventory. Looking for someone to help on nights and weekends.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Knows and complies with restaurant portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen policies and procedures
Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes
Ensures food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures by regulating temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills, fryers, roasters and other kitchen equipment
Inspects and maintains food preparation areas such as equipment and work surfaces or serving areas
Maintains organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers and storage areas
Bakes, roasts, broils and steams meats, fish, vegetables and other foods to restaurant standards
Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed
Performs other duties as assigned

Basic knife skills

Self-sufficient work ethic
Education and Experience:
Food safety knowledge
More than one year of experience in a professional kitchen preferred
Physical Requirements:
Able to carry 30 lbs
Able to stand for long periods of time in wide ranging of temperatures
