Pastor of Female Youth Ministries

Provides pastoral guidance to the youth within the Boys Town community, demonstrates a strong pastoral presence that fosters unity among religions, and serves as a spiritual role model on campus.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Works as part of the multi-faith pastoral team to minister to the youth at Boys Town. Practices the methodology of multi-faith ministry.
  • Organizes and leads weekly and special worship and prayer services.
  • Provides effective teaching and leads by example for pre-adolescent and adolescent youth who come from a variety of environments and faith traditions.
  • Provides spiritual leadership and guidance to youth and adults.
  • Oversees sacramental preparation and associated church records including baby dedications, baptisms, marriages, funerals, and new members; prepares programs for services.
  • Prepares and teaches Bible Studies for adults and youth.
  • Leads high school youth and faith groups.
  • Pastoral services and activities for younger youth.
  • Plans and oversees special events related to children, youth and families, including Sunday School for Family Teacher dependent children, Easter egg hunts, fall festivals, etc.
  • Integrates Boys Town mission and model into all pastoral services, including preaching, speaking engagements, and retreats.
  • Maintains a regular, weekly presence in Boys Town Schools.
  • Demonstrates a passion for effectively leading the congregation at Chambers Chapel.
  • Shows care and compassion for Boys Town youth and the congregation through encouragement and pastoral counseling.
  • Ministers effectively to people in crisis situations.
  • Builds relationships with Boys Town youth and Family Home Program staff.
  • Develops and maintains a cadre of adult volunteers to help with Boys Town ministries.
  • Provides engagement with outside faith communities.
  • Works regularly to welcome new Boys Town Family Home Program staff to campus; identifies, implements, and leads changes necessary to increased Family Home youth and staff participation in church life at Chambers Chapel.
  • Works to build and maintain unity and harmony within the various stakeholders including the Boys Town Employee Resource groups.
  • Works with organization stakeholders to plan, develop, and implement all aspects of a balanced youth ministry in the areas of evangelism, discipleship, service, and outreach.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must possess a straightforward belief in Jesus as Lord, and the acceptance of the Apostles Creed or Nicene Creed.
  • Exhibits godly character and qualities.
  • Must have a passion for pastoral care and demonstrate strong interpersonal and relational skills, with the ability to discern the needs of youth & staff under pastoral care.
  • Demonstrates the exegetical and homiletic skills necessary to study and effectively communicate the Word of God in a captivating and engaging manner that allows Boys Town youth to apply it to their daily lives.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and relational skills and a passion for pastoral care.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels in the organization and with external business contacts in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality.
  • Views ministry as a lifestyle, not as a job.
  • Commits to personal regular accountability with other godly individuals and possesses the ability to maintain such relationships.
  • Demonstrates effectiveness in discipleship and ability to inspire and equip members of the congregation.
  • Working knowledge of software applications with a proficient ability to utilize Windows-based programs and Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to relate well to people of different ages and faith backgrounds.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s from a Bible college, seminary, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 or more years of experience in youth or church ministry required.
  • Experience in pastoral ministry required.
  • Available to travel locally as needed required.
  • Available to work evenings and weekends as needed required.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record required.
  • Pass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with at risk young women.
  • Experience in pastoral ministry with emphasis on youth ministry preferred.
