Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate fulfilment of parts orders, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and fostering strong relationships with internal and external customers. They will manage and lead Power Test’s parts business and operations activities. This includes parts for the PowerTest, Taylor Dynamometer, SuperFlow™, Hicklin, Axiline, TCRS, Stuska Dyno & Dyne Systems products. Responsibilities may include helping to drive parts sales and effective implementation of parts sales strategies to achieve revenue growth and margin goals. The incumbent will demonstrate leadership by developing a collaborative, innovative, empowered, and high performing team. The role supports and executes the aftermarket’s value stream’s strategic plan to advance the business and its capabilities, capacity, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management
  • Analyze historical data, forecasts, and market trends to develop and implement effective inventory management strategies
  • Monitor inventory levels and reorder points, ensuring adequate stock availability while minimizing excess inventory
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align inventory planning with production schedules and customer demand
  • Demand Planning & Order Fulfillment
  • Oversee parts planning including creating and managing a parts planning system to optimize the balance between customer service and cost.
  • Set and manage supply plans and stocking levels to meet demand and fulfil customer orders within the expected lead time while minimizing inventory investment levels.
  • Collaborate with aftermarket sales on the demand plan and with purchasing and manufacturing on the supply plan. In addition, this position will lead an Aftermarket SIOP process.
  • Drive improvements in the efficiency, quality and effectiveness of the parts fulfillment operation.
  • Oversee the pick, pack, and ship processes to ensure aftermarket orders are fulfilled accurately and within promised delivery dates.
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline order processing and enhance operational efficiency. \
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as ship-within-promise date, order accuracy, and on-time delivery rates
  • Customer Service
  • Foster positive relationships with internal customers by providing exceptional support and proactive communication
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally
  • Gather customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Effectively communicate goals to the parts team and communicate with the wider organization as and when required
  • Maintain accurate and up to date sales records, and other control records necessary for processing of internal and external reports.
  • Responsibilities include supporting growth of existing parts business and supporting development of new parts business in partnership with the aftermarket sales manager, to ensure attainment of parts sales goals and profitability.
  • Leadership

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or related field.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in parts management, inventory control, and/or customer service.
  • Minimum five years of leadership experience required.
  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

  • Demonstrated experience running a service parts operation for an industrial equipment manufacturer.
  • Relevant industrial experience (high mix/low volume).
  • Excellent in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and customers.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience/ KSAs

  • Knowledge of lean principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Enterprise Resource Planning; Demonstrated effective use of CRM and ERP systems – Experience with Infor Visual ERP tool preferred or related experience with SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, NetSuite etc.
  • Advanced Data Analytics – Margin Analysis, Regression Analysis, Pattern recognition, Statistical analysis.
