ORGANIZATION: We are a Colorado Department of Education (CDE) approved facility school and partner closely with several local school districts to provide intensive services for our students. Our nationally recognized approach has achieved superior results through our structured environments, teaching strategies based on behavioral intervention, and data collection. Using Applied Behavior Analysis, we identify, with families and teams, the needs of each student to create an independent and fulfilling life. These might include social skills, communication and language, academics, daily living and community skills, vocational skills and more. POSITION: The School Psychologist will execute a variety of clinical and administrative tasks to effectively oversee assessment, mental health and social emotional programming for students at The Joshua School campuses. Oversee and manage the implementation of all mental health-related interventions for TJS students at the Englewood and Boulder campuses including conducting diagnostic assessments, developing evidence-based treatment plans, and supervising plan implementation in classrooms. Collaborating with Directors, Lead Teachers and Specialists on integrating mental health services into existing treatment plans and IEPs. Assist in the development of IEP goals and identification of curricula that relate to mental and social- emotional health Train TJS staff in data collection procedures and treatment implementation for all mental health interventions that are transferring to the classroom Provide clinical and diagnostic support to staff regarding students, as needed Collaborate with TJS Parents in facilitating access to community supports and services Enhance staff and parent knowledge of mental health issues through the development and delivery of dedicated trainings and workshops Expand community knowledge of mental health issues amongst the ASD population through delivery of trainings and/or workshops at local, regional and national conferences Build capacity for the delivery of mental health services to TJS students through the recruitment and supervision of graduate Psychology interns Work with Executive Program Director to pursue grants and other funding and research opportunities to continue to explore mental health services Provide support to staff for parent communication, and support to parents in conferences, meetings, or as needed. Participate in enrollment and discharge of students to assess mental health needs Participate in crisis management and physical interventions when necessary LOCATION: The Joshua School’s Denver Campus is located in Englewood, Colorado, just a few blocks south of the University of Denver. HOURS: This position is part-time (16 hrs/week). SALARY: The hourly rate for this position is between $36.06 to $43.27/hr. QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree or PhD in a relevant field such as applied behavior analysis, social work, psychology, or education A minimum of 5 years working in applied settings with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities Demonstrated knowledge of applied behavior analysis preferred BCBA credential preferred The Joshua School is an Equal Opportunity employer.
