Position Summary
Cambrian College’s School of Community Services requires Instructors to teach within the Early Childhood Education program for the Fall 2024 semester.
Duties and Responsibilities
The individual will teach in one or more of the following areas:
Required:
Applicants must have a postsecondary diploma in Early Childhood Education (preference will be given to applicants with a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline), be registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators, and have five years of experience working within a licensed childcare centre. Previous teaching experience at the postsecondary level will be considered an asset. The successful candidates will possess excellent interpersonal skills, superior oral and written communication skills, and the ability to be an effective role model in the classroom. The successful applicants must also possess good organizational skills and sound computer software skills and be able to function within a team environment.

Cambrian College’s School of Community Services requires Instructors to teach within the Early Childhood Education program for the Fall 2024 semester.
Duties and Responsibilities
The individual will teach in one or more of the following areas:
- Health & Nutrition (ending in December): In this course, students will discover the teacher's role in helping children from birth to 12 years of age to experience a sense of wellness. The dimensions of wellness (health, safety, and nutrition) are explored in terms of their interrelatedness.
- The Creative Environment (ending in December): In this course, students will examine the principles of creating indoor and outdoor learning environments. Students will also identify specific inclusions for both indoor and outdoor play. Students will examine the historical perspective of play and stages of play in detail.
- Infant and Toddler Care (ending in November): In this course, students will learn how to provide care and education to infants and toddlers while considering the issues impacting the families of very young children. The relationship between families and educators will be examined, recognizing the importance of an effective partnership with family members.
- Curriculum Planning II (ending in November): In this course, students will discover the skills necessary to develop and implement curriculum for children in ECE environments. The focus will be science, math, and social studies.
Required:

- All candidates will be required to undergo a mini-teaching simulation during the interview process.
