What you will be doing

Location: Remote, Iowa

• Preferred Location- commutable to Independence, IA.
  
  

Shift: Part-time Flexible schedule, work from home!

Under 10 hours per week, after normal operating hours for remote verification purposes.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for remotely verifying medication orders entered after normal pharmacy hours; verifies prescribed medications according to professional standards, facility procedures, and state and federal legal requirements.
• Some onsite expectations required in Independence, IA for training and support as needed.
• Reviews patient's medication profile for allergies, possible interactions, and appropriateness of the medication order.
• Clarifies medication orders by contacting the nursing staff or the on-duty provider.
• Communicates with on-site pharmacy staff regarding non-urgent follow-up for orders.
  
  

What your background should look like

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires a minimum of eight (8) years directly related and progressively responsible experience; a Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy. An unrestricted, current state license as a Registered Pharmacist in resident state is required.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Ability to work quickly and accurately under time and volume constraints
• Strong leadership skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to resolve customer issues quickly and creatively in order to improve customer satisfaction
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical products, services and drug interactions
• Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
• Good analytical skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
