Cedar High School is seeking FOUR Part Time Learning Strategies Paraprofessional to work 27.5 hours per week beginning in August for the 2024-2025 school year.

These positions will remain open until filled.

The Part Time Learning Strategies Paraprofessional works under the direction of the school principal, working with the Learning Strategies teacher to assist students who are in need of additional academic support. Establishes effective rapport with students and motivates students to develop appropriate academic skills and attitudes leading toward improved academic standing, including credit recovery, in order to foster greater independence and responsibility in the student.

  • Support credit recovery with students that are struggling academically
  • Administer and help with GradPoint credit recovery software
  • Track student credits and monitor student academic progress in GradPoint software
  • Work with a Learning Strategies teacher to collect, document, manage, and use data to inform student intervention plans, referrals for additional supports, problem solving, schedules and services to benefit students.
  • Able to use Google Suite effectively (i.e.Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides)
  • Communicates constantly with classroom teachers, support staff, students and parents
  • Ensure that changes to student programming are data driven and documented effectively.
  • Provides instructional support assistance to individual students and student groups.
  • Works with school professionals and other paraprofessionals to build the school's capacity to address student’s academic needs.
  • Maintains current knowledge and improves skill application by participating in regular on-going professional development
  • Adheres to all local, state, and federal policies and procedures for special education and behavior compliance.
  • Supports and helps to develop plans for students who have struggled with attendance and Tier I classroom behavior.
  • Participates in the development, maintenance and carrying out of systems for classroom management.
  • Guides students in working and interacting harmoniously with other students.
  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance and job performance is required
  • Operates various types of office equipment such as computers, copy machines, etc.
  • Complies with established district policies and procedures.
  • Must have basic computer knowledge, be familiar with Google docs and check email frequently. Must be willing to learn and use all computer systems and software as needed.
