Position: Part-Time Instructor - Work Zone
Position Overview
Under general supervision, you will facilitate Work Zone Safety classes using the curriculum. These courses are vital for educating students on Work Zone Flagger, Technician, and Supervisor roles, adhering to MUTCD and ANSI standards.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction (80%):
Deliver engaging classroom sessions, ensuring adherence to quality standards and curriculum.
Maintain confidentiality and stay updated on state regulations and local laws relevant to Work Zone Safety.
Act as a resource for participants, clarifying course content and answering questions effectively.
Attend and participate in training and development seminars as required.
Classroom & Materials Preparation (10%):
Ensure proper functionality of A/V equipment at classroom sites.
Conduct safety walk-throughs and report issues promptly.
Assist with setting up classrooms and representing leased sites as needed.
Instructional Support (10%):
Monitor class quality and provide constructive feedback.
Assist fellow Instructors with technical issues and perform administrative duties associated with instruction.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
Proficiency in construction, engineering principles, and Work Zone Safety.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently under supervision.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with instructional technology.
Public speaking experience and ability to foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Valid State Driver's License and successful completion of Criminal Offender Record check.
