We are seek a passionate Part-time Instructor to teach an online section of PHI 107: Theories of Knowledge and Reality during the Spring Semester of 2024. This 3-credit course explores fundamental questions surrounding knowledge and reality, including debates on the existence of God, the mind-body problem, free will, and the nature of knowledge itself. The curriculum integrates both historical and contemporary readings to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of these philosophical inquiries.
Responsibilities
Develop and update course syllabus in accordance with departmental guidelines.
Prepare engaging lectures and instructional materials suitable for an online learning environment.
Conduct regular office hours to provide academic support and mentorship to students.
Deliver instruction that meets course competencies and performance standards.
Adhere to scheduled class periods and university policies.
Evaluate student assignments and exams promptly, providing constructive feedback.
Facilitate student evaluations using departmental forms.
Foster a positive learning environment by building rapport with students, teaching assistants, and fellow faculty members.
Qualifications
ABD or PhD in Philosophy.
Experience in teaching or academic instruction, preferably in an online setting.
Strong communication skills and ability to engage students in philosophical discourse.
Commitment to academic excellence and adherence to university policies and procedures.
