Fire Prevention & Security Officer-Part Time, J41A/J41B
About the Position:
Incumbents are assigned responsibilities, involving the inspection of buildings and grounds for elimination of fire hazards, enforcement of laws, rules and regulations and providing security at Griffin Memorial Hospital.
Typical work duties may include patrolling assigned premises to identify and correct fire hazards; providing assistance to employees or visitors; directing traffic; and performing other duties related to the protection of state property, employees, visitors and others.
Job Type/Salary:
This is a Part Time, shift position. Shifts are 8-10 hours in duration
Annual Salary:
Level I: $14.182692/hour
Level II: $15.144231/hour
We have day, evening, and overnight shifts available:
Evening - sometime between 1:00 PM - 11:30 PM
This position is Non-Exempt

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Level I: No requisite education and experience are required for consideration.
Level II: Completion of a basic security and/or firefighter's course, and 2 years of experience in security or fire prevention and protection work
Special Requirements:
Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of lifting/carrying 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently and able to push and pull a maximum force of 50 pounds
Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license

Griffin Memorial Hospital (GMH) is located in Norman, Oklahoma, and serves all 77 counties in Oklahoma as a Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) treatment center for adults. Griffin Memorial Hospital is a 120-bed acute psychiatric hospital serving persons aged 18 and over with severe mental illness and provides in-patient hospital care for those in need of mental health & substance abuse services.
