Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Department Information
The School of Government and International Affairs is committed to excellence in teaching, learning, research, and service. We value and encourage engagement with the community at the local, national, and global levels. Our primary goal is to provide our students with the necessary academic and communication skills, knowledge base, and analytical abilities to understand political systems and critical issues, and to be involved citizens and high-performing professionals in their chosen careers. Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time faculty positions in the School of Government & International Affairs for the academic year 2024-2025. These positions are on an as needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include the following at a minimum:
Teaching introductory political science classes, like POLS 1101 "Introduction to American Government" or POLS 2401 "Global Issues"
Possibility of teaching graduate courses
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
To teach undergraduate courses:
A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or a closely related discipline is required.
OR
A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required.
To Teach Graduate Courses
A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or Public Administration or a related discipline is required.
Preferred Qualifications
An earned doctoral degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or a closely related field.
Experience teaching online or hybrid courses.
