JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


Candidate will assist news staff by gathering background information to complete assigned stories; interviewing faculty, staff, student and alumni sources; writing news releases following Associated Press style; and writing articles for the college's undergraduate student recruiting efforts. Depending on skills, qualifications and interests, other duties may include taking photographs of people and events and assisting with Web/social media content development. Experience or coursework in news and/or feature writing helpful. Paid internship may be for credit (3).

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters. The ASR is available for review here.
