We are recruiting for part-time, game night staff for the Orlando Magic, Osceola Magic, and Orlando Solar Bears. What Our Part-Time Hiring Process Is Like

While every position is different, our part-time hiring process is typically a two-step process, sometimes more depending on the nature of the role. After you apply, your resume will be reviewed by our hiring manager for that particular role.

After interviews have been conducted, candidates whom the hiring manager selected will be contacted by our Talent Acquisition team. Candidates who are not selected to move forward will be contacted via email. We would love to call 100% of the candidates, however we typically interview well over 250 candidates during this part-time hiring week, and we want to give every candidate the decision as soon as possible.

A quick summary about the Part Time CG/Graphics Operator role:

The CG/Graphics Operator manages and executes the sponsor and game elements on the Ross Xpression for the In-Arena show. They are responsible for the proper execution of graphics for the show as dictated by the Producer and Director.

What the Part Time CG/Graphic Operator will be responsible for:

The CG/Graphics Operator is responsible for the proper display and operation of the Ross Xpression Character Generator and IDS Stats as dictated by the Producer and Director at the Kia Center during live events.

  • Testing of all equipment and software prior to the opening of doors, including but not limited to the Ross Xpression and IDS Stats System is required.
  • Ability to follow instructions of the show Producer and Director instantaneously during the show in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to tell a story through stats utilizing available resources for research such as Game Notes, various websites, and social media platforms.
  • Collaborate with the production team during cue-to-cue rehearsal.
  • Manage multiple graphic elements, both sponsor and entertainment related, on cue and as scheduled according to the show Production Schedule (script).
  • Manage, organize, and update multiple Stats graphics for each player and team during the show with compelling and accurate statistical information for display on the primary video board.
  • Communicate with the Director and Producer during the show to “sell” timely elements as appropriate.
  • Update and maintain all graphic elements prior to doors opening and during the show, including player statistics, sponsor elements and promotional elements.
  • Test and maintain the scorebug graphics that appear on the in-house IPTV feed and Coach’s Video.
  • All other duties as assigned.

What The Part Time CG/Graphic Operator Needs To Have

  • College degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 5 years of live Character Generator experience required or preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of NBA and Orlando Magic basketball required.
  • Live sports video production experience required.
  • Proficient in Ross Xpression or comparable graphics generator system, Microsoft Office 2007, Outlook, Excel, Word, and other related computer skills required. Experience or working knowledge of, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects is preferred.
  • Availability and willingness to work extended hours, including nights and weekends and be on-call as necessary.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on the changing priorities of the department.
