Paralegal

Job Description

We are seeking a Paralegal to become a part of our team! You will provide overall support to attorneys' business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research to support legal proceedings
• Assist with the drafting and reviewing of legal documents
• Investigate facts to help in the negotiation of legal disputes
• Monitor and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
• Record and store client information
• Prepare and file legal documents with courts and government agencies
• Coordinate with clients, courts, witnesses and third parties throughout the legal process
• Handle confidential information with discretion and maintain client confidentiality
• Effectively and efficiently track time spent on matters for client billing
• Perform administrative functions related to the practice of law, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars and handling phone calls
• Utilize document management systems to organize and store legal files.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience working as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant, preferably in civil litigation and/or family law
• Familiarity with legal research
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Deadline and detail-oriented
• Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or related field preferred
• Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High level of professionalism and ethical standards
• Working knowledge of Westlaw, TxDocs and Smokeball preferred
