Packer

$17-$22/hour depending on experience.

As a packer, you will pack finfish portions for distribution to restaurants using the consolidated sheet. The Packer at KSD is responsible for the timely, orderly, and accurate packaging of all Cutting Room products in preparation for delivery. The Packer makes changes to the consolidated sheet as needed and works closely with the Plant Manager throughout the shift.

Once hired, you will be trained in your area of expertise to ensure your capability and understanding of safety and sanitation. You will be trained on our plant standards and you will contribute and excel in a team service environment. You will be responsible for following all company standards and guidelines, and performs opening, on-going, and closing side-work duties.

Essential Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to communicate in verbal and written English
  • High School graduate/GED
  • Ability to maintain high level of organization throughout shift
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to make adjustments to workload and packaging technique during shift

Essential Job Functions

  • Prepare containers/cambros for packing
  • Pack all cutting room product
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Communicate with Filleters and Cutters throughout shift to notify of any changes, shortages, or other adjustments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (typically 10 - 20 lbs.)
  • Ability to carry up to 120 feet
  • Ability to reach up to 6 feet (typically 2 - 4 ft.)
