This is for a packaging professional that works graphics / labeling in the food industry. Working with production, packaging engineer, quality, sales, and marketing, the Packaging Graphics Labeling Manager will work to effectively manage packaging graphics including labeling across the company brands for all USDA and Canada label submittals. Ensure that packaging with labels meet regulations and approval prior to release to the plant for production runs. Determine viability and proficiencies/deficiencies in packaging materials and recommend accordingly.
This role oversees the full operation of packaging graphics and labeling in accordance with regulatory requirements for both U.S. and Canadian regulations
This position is responsible for providing final approval and sign-off of packaging samples prior to live roll-out to plant for production. Your packaging knowledge including materials and graphics will be leaned upon
This individual will work as a member of the Quality and Manufacturing Leadership Team to contribute to the company’s success by continually improving packaging enhancements including materials, graphics, and government labeling submittals
Establish and maintain files of USDA graphics approvals and specifications into company systems
Ensure regulatory and labeling requirements align with the standards of the company and across all brands
Regulatory responsibilities include food claims and labeling, monitoring shifting regulatory policies, requirements for food production and distribution, and market entry
Track and manage packaging and labeling progress of multiple projects across different company brands and their production facilities
Create new documentation and maintain the Management Change file in order to transition to new packaging materials
Handle all customer inquiries and questions / trouble-shooting related to claims related to regulatory and labeling specific to graphics and packaging

Technical Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree desirable in Packaging, Business, Food Science, or similar
- 2 years’ experience working with packaging graphics
- 2 years’ experience working with USDA / Canadian labeling submittals
- Formal certification in regulatory preferrable
- SQF, BRC, ISO 22000, HACCP, PCQI, and food safety protocols knowledge preferrable
- Work well in a cross-functional team with excellent communication
- Ideation and creativity, keeping with trends in food and packaging
- Personality for sharing ideas, offering insight and liaison to internal and external stakeholders to see packaging projects through
