Job Overview:

As a Packaging and Sourcing Manager at Sunday Riley, you will have a multifaceted role responsible for designing innovative packaging solutions and managing the sourcing of packaging materials. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the efficient and sustainable delivery of our products to customers while minimizing costs and environmental impact.


Key Responsibilities:


Packaging Responsibilities:

  • Design and Innovation: Develop and design packaging solutions that are functional, cost-effective, and environmentally sustainable, considering factors such as product protection, shipping efficiency, and recyclability.
  • Material Selection: Evaluate and select packaging materials based on their environmental impact, cost-effectiveness, and suitability for the product.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Create prototypes and conduct testing to ensure packaging meets quality and safety standards, making improvements as necessary.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date with packaging regulations and certifications to ensure compliance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and logistics, to align packaging design with product goals and branding.


Sourcing Management Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Management: Identify, assess, and manage suppliers for packaging materials, including negotiating contracts and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
  • Cost Optimization: Continuously analyze pricing, market trends, and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Develop and implement sustainable sourcing strategies for packaging materials, aligning with company sustainability goals.
  • Risk Management: Monitor and mitigate risks in the supply chain, including supply disruptions and price fluctuations.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to packaging materials.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the packaging sourcing budget, tracking expenses and ensuring cost-effectiveness.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in packaging engineering, supply chain management, or a related field
  • Proven experience in packaging and sourcing
  • Strong knowledge of packaging materials, design principles, and sustainability practices.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and packaging design tools.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to packaging materials.
