BR Investigations is looking for an experienced OSINT Investigator to join our team. The OSINT Investigator will be tasked with delving into open-source intelligence using a variety of digital tools to extract pertinent information from public records, social media platforms, websites, and other online sources. The role involves synthesizing complex data into actionable insights tailored for legal professionals, aiding in case strategies and client advisement.


Responsibilities


  • Conduct in-depth research using open-source tools to gather intelligence from public records, social media platforms, websites, and other internet sources. Verifying the accuracy and credibility of the research.
  • Analyze a wide array of information including news reports, public records, social media, and other online data to uncover insights pertinent to cases.
  • Synthesize complex data into clear, detailed reports and presentations tailored for legal professionals and clients, highlighting actionable intelligence and strategic insights.
  • Work closely with legal teams to understand specific case requirements, providing timely and relevant intelligence to aid in case strategy and client advisement.
  • Employ advanced search techniques and leverage a variety of OSINT tools and software to enhance research effectiveness.
  • Ensure the integrity and legality of intelligence gathering methods, adhering to ethical standards and privacy laws.
  • Regularly update skills and knowledge in OSINT methodologies, attending workshops and training sessions as required.
  • Participate in team meetings, offering insights into intelligence trends and potential applications in legal scenarios.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree+ in library science, journalism, intelligence studies, pre-law, computer science, web development, cybersecurity, data science, a related field, or equivalent experience. Individuals with experience conducting in-depth research in the humanities and social sciences, such as history, political science, and area studies are also encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated ability in analytical and critical thinking and research, capable of interpreting and synthesizing complex data.
  • Advanced proficiency in internet research, including familiarity with a variety of search engines, databases, social media platforms, and research technologies.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, capable of producing well-structured, detailed reports and presenting findings to legal teams and clients.
  • Independent worker with strong collaborative skills, able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Extensive understanding of major social media platforms.
  • Keen attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
  • A foundational understanding of legal processes and terminology is highly desirable.

Salary range based on experience level and location is estimated to be in the range of $60,000-70,000
