  • Provides high quality care for children of all ages with musculoskeletal problems.
  • Performs research and presents and publishes research findings.
  • Teaches staff, medical students, residents and fellows.


The pay range for this position is $217.00-$306.00/hourly. Compensation is determined based on relevant experience and department equity.

  • Demonstrates the ability to professionally interact and communicate appropriately with staff, patients, families,and visitors.
  • Consistent with position and level of responsibility, demonstrates knowledge of and application of soundfinancial management.
  • Fosters and participates in a team-oriented approach to management, consistent with position. Demonstratesability to participate in and build effective work teams and promote team-based projects.
  • Actively participates in Performance Improvement activities within the Department and the Hospital.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Performance Improvement and makes suggestions for PI projects as appropriate.
  • Performs duties in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision or direction according to defined level ofresponsibility.
  • Attends and actively participates in designated Hospital and departmental meetings and training classes.
  • Follows safety procedures, operates equipment and performs job-related duties in a safe manner whichprevents accidents/injuries from occurring to self or others.
  • Ensures that routine and priority tasks are completed within established timelines.
  • Adhere to SHCNC attendance/tardiness policy (i.e. reports to work on time, uses paid leave timesappropriately, etc.)
  • Must possess an M.D. degree.
  • Must have successfully completed an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited orthopedic surgery residency program.
  • Must have completed relevant fellowship training (pediatric orthopaedics, hand surgery, spine surgery, or sports medicine).
  • Must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of California.
  • Must be Board-Eligible or Board-Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) and eligible for or in possession of Subspecialty Certification (SC) if appropriate (orthopaedic SC currently available in Hand Surgery and Sports Medicine only).
