Optometry Technician

Job Type Full-time Description Eye Care Center - Estimated Start Date for position will be in August 2024. The Optometry Tech performs a variety of patient care services as directed by ophthalmologists or optometrists. Assures smooth patient flow, assists with examination procedures, collects patient history, information, reviews medications and allergies and performs preliminary testing at the start of each appointment. Patient Care Assisting with patient care and eye examinations. Maintains patient records for the vision center including assembling patient records, keeping all chart forms properly identified with the patient identification plate, and attaching reports into the record. Taking patient histories. Maintains daily and monthly logs and prepares referral-tracking reports as required by clinic/service. Explains the testing process to patients, preparing them, and administering tests on visual capabilities. Keeping records and inventory and taking notes during examinations. Performing minor maintenance and repairs on examination equipment. Obtains and provides educational materials and related information to the patient and/or family members. Apply a minimum of one health literacy method when communicating with patients/clients. We would love to engage for other possible opportunities or explore your areas of skill a little deeper) QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Currently not sponsoring for work visa. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Bilingual in Spanish or Burma dialect preferred. 2 years or optical or medical assistant experience preferred. Working knowledge of eCW a plus. An Associate's degree as an optometric technician may be a benefit. An optometric technician certification may be a benefit. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Self-motivation, and ability to work under pressure. Requires knowledge of policies and procedures for area. Physical Requirement: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
