Operations Team Lead

Summary

The primary purpose of the Operations Team Lead will be to serve as primary back up to selectors, loaders, trainer, and routing specialist. The Operations Team Lead will also participate in the development of employees and the overall adherence to expectations as it relates to Safety, Training, Quality, Breakage, Accuracy, Selecting, Loading, and Routing.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provides instructional training and assessment support for operations positions.
  • Supports the execution of Operations Key Focuses which also includes employee development.
  • Performs regular process audits of safety, accuracy, loading, pallet builds and equipment.
  • Completion of all training and signatures with SOP’s for each area of operations. (order selector, c-loader, bulk loader, replenisher, etc..)
  • Communicates opportunities observed for employees, equipment, and fleet with warehouse manager daily.
  • Participates in the development or improvement of standard operating procedures.
  • Ensures full compliance with all industrial standards for applicable equipment.
  • Ensures that replenishment is properly executed and in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that employees are fully trained on the handheld picking device.
  • Be a subject matter expert on all operational processes and equipment.
  • Assist with all other operational duties as needed to ensure completion of daily productivity, improved efficiency, employee development and safety guidelines.
  • Ensures that post shift clean ups are executed.
  • Be the safety subject matter expert.
  • Always ensure the dress code is adhered to and be properly attired and groomed.
  • Obey all federal, state, and local Laws.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned. (For CPB, there are notes as it relates to Vertique and Wrapper)
    • Utilize the Vertique System to include the operation of the mainframe computer and product placement on the conveyors.
    • Full understanding of how to work / correct alarms on product issues on the conveyor.
    • Full understanding of operating the automated wrapper to include cleaning routines.

Education And/Or Experience

Requires the ability to read, write, complete simple forms and understand simple written instructions. Requires the ability to perform arithmetic skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division including decimals and fractions. Could require simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules or diagrams. Equivalent to a high school education.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES

Repetitive, routine, or semi-routine duties involving the use of numerous general procedures involving average detail and variation where the employee is responsible for recognition of previously described sets of circumstances and correct choice of action within limits of clearly prescribed standard practices and procedures, requiring the making of contingency decision and the use of some judgement.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Under general supervision where standard practice and flow of work enables the employee to proceed alone on regular duties, referring questionable variations in work to supervisor or others

RESPONSIBILITY FOR ERRORS

Probable errors are usually detected in succeeding operations and generally confined to a single department or phase of company activities. Errors could cause some internal confusion or delay or cause customer or supplier complaints but could be detected and adjusted with little difficulty. Corrections would involve backchecking by others and would involve some moderate monetary losses. Most work verified or checked either by systems or procedures, or supervision.

Contact With Others

Contact with other people within the department or with other departments, and occasionally with people outside the company on routine matters furnishing or obtaining information requiring only ordinary courtesy and tact.
