Principal Consultant - US Manufacturing and Operations

As the Operations Manager, you will oversee all aspects of greenhouse operations, ensuring efficient, high-quality production of produce. You will be a strong leader with a background in agriculture, horticulture, or a related field, and a proven track record in managing complex operations. You will work closely with various departments to optimize processes, manage resources, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.


Key Responsibilities:


Operational Management:

  • Oversee daily operations of the greenhouse, including planting, harvesting, and packaging.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring timely procurement of supplies and materials.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure all equipment and facilities are functioning properly and safely.


Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of employees, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Conduct regular training and development programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the team.


Quality Control:

  • Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure produce meets company and industry standards.
  • Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to address any quality issues and develop preventive measures


Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Analyze financial reports and provide insights to senior management to support decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.


Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term operational strategies.
  • Identify and evaluate new technologies and methods to improve production efficiency and sustainability.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements to keep the company competitive.


Customer and Vendor Relations:

  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and customers.
  • Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
  • Address customer complaints and feedback, implementing improvements as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in agriculture or horticulture.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in using operational management software and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
