Operations Manager

Summary

The Operations Manager will be responsible for Managing daily overall operations. Plan and manage labor, productivity, quality control, and safety measures to meet deadlines. Maintain a high-quality standard of product production and delivery.

Key Activities

• Train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline employees.
• Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions to ensure all operations are carried out appropriately, and cost-effectively.
• Improve operational management systems; contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans.
• Implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations and OSHA requirements.
• Support employee communication with the management team.
• Purchase materials, equipment, and tools; plan inventory and safety stock; maintain solid and accurate inventory data; oversee warehouse efficiency.
• Formulate strategic and operational objectives; provide short- and long-term goals; report to CEO and upper management.
• Identify and address problems and opportunities for the company.
• Manage operation budgets and report forecasts to the management team.
• Work with and support QA Manager to perform quality controls and monitor production key performance indicators.
• Manage relationships with key suppliers and OEM; track supplier pricing and service quality; establish contracts and pricing, and ensure proper maintenance.
• Help HR with recruiting.
• Work with staff to create an OSHA/safety standards program and maintain it.
• Occasional travel.
• Perform as backup for Technician.

Preferred Skills

• Advanced written and verbal communication skills (bilingual a plus)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office

Educations & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or the Sciences or (10) years of progressive experience in a production environment (medical device/equipment preferred).
• Prior experience in ISO-certified companies; familiarity with ISO:13485 a plus
• Knowledge of Business Administration
