HalseyPoint is looking to add an Operations Analyst who will work as a junior member on the Operations team. This includes all aspects of monitoring the investment portfolios managed by HalseyPoint, including interacting with third-party service providers to settle trades, monitoring daily cash, reconciling accounts, checking trade allocations for accuracy, researching errors, and assisting with other tasks related to HalseyPoint's investment operations. This is a unique opportunity to play an integral role with a rapidly growing firm. The Operations Analyst will be part of a small internal team supporting and directly impacting the investment decision-making process at HalseyPoint. The Operations Analyst will work alongside the Director of Operations in managing the day-to-day investment operations at HalseyPoint.

Please note: This role will require working on-site at HalseyPoint's Los Angeles area office (specifically, El Segundo, CA 90245) a minimum of three (3) days per week. Team members have the option to work remotely on certain set days as determined by management up to two (2) times per week; in all cases, the ability to work remotely on such days will be subject to business and investor demands and such demands may require team members to physically be present in the office on days that would otherwise be designated for optional remote work.

Position Description and Major Responsibilities

• Review and manage the trade settlement process in terms of daily cash positions and reconciliations for each fund.
• Review daily trade entries in the operating management system (Allvue/BlackMountain) and ensure that any trade errors are reported to the Director of Operations and Chief Compliance Officer.
• Monitor daily position reconciliations from the external middle office team, ensure accuracy of reports using data analysis tools to uncover reconciliation items.
• Monitor feeds with vendors, such as Moody’s for ratings and Markit for loan prices, etc. 
• Develop a basic understanding of financial operations, leveraged loans, and CLO functionality.
• Attend firm-wide morning meetings and monthly review meetings with portfolio managers and investment analysts to report on operational/performance matters and respond to information requests.
• Assist the Director of Operations with ad hoc reporting requests from PMs and analysts.

Position Requirements and Desired Experience

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• High proficiency in Excel required; Bloomberg knowledge a plus.
• 1-2+ years of experience with any financial operations role (CLO experience preferred).
• Prior bank loan or credit training preferred.
• Knowledge of leveraged loans and/or fixed income products preferred.
• Bookkeeping skills helpful.
• Outstanding initiative and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Incredible attention to detail and strong ability to organize.
• Strong interpersonal skills and desire to be part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
