Responsibilities

As a member of the Global Markets (MARK) Operational Risk Management (ORM) team, this position will be responsible for implementation, management and review of first line of defense controls for SG’s fixed income (FIC) business in the Americas. The scope includes performing regulatory controls, managing programs and initiatives to enhance the risk & control framework, supporting risk assessments (e.g., RCSA), conducting breach management, and representing the business in governance forums.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support fixed income sales and trading supervisors and business heads in all of their operational risk and compliance responsibilities, including performing delegated written supervisory procedures (WSP)
  • Understand and interpret applicable regulations, particularly those applicable to fixed income products and markets
  • Resolve issues and coordinate with technology, operations and compliance partners to remediate/enhance controls and processes, where needed
  • Support the MARK front office annual risk and control self-assessment (RCSA) campaign in collaboration with ORM busines line coverage teams, desk heads and 2L risk functions
  • Manage the firm’s TRACE reporting program, including participation in trade reporting governance forums
  • Coordinate Best Execution and 15c3-5 reporting and governance committees
  • Identify issues, assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the front office control framework in place to reduce risk, propose action plans to mitigate the residual risks and follow-up on the implementation of action plans.
  • Collaborate with the business lines to proactively improve risk management in the MARK Front Office.
  • Deliver regular management reporting on compliance and operational risk topics, analyzing and offering insights on front office supervision and risk culture.
  • Contribute and participate in various risk and supervision related working groups and committees as required.
  • Represent fixed income business stakeholders in global regulatory programs, such as Dodd-Frank, Volcker, MIFID, etc.
  • Provide answers on front office operational risk topics alongside internal and external auditors and examiners.

Required

Profile required

  • Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Finance, Financial Engineering, Engineering, Economics, Information Systems, Mathematics, Business or a related field
  • Must have 7 years of experience at a global financial institution working with processes relating to capital markets products.
  • Experience in a similar roles a plus – such as Front Office controls, Business Management or Support (e.g., Trade Support, FO Technology), or other control functions (e.g., Testing, Audit, Compliance Advisory). Any experience managing projects and leading groups to execute business initiatives (including technology and process improvements).

COMPENSATION & SALARY RANGE:

Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.
