We are seeking enthusiastic, engaging, and reliable English Language Arts teachers to instruct weekly one-hour writing classes for 3rd to 8th grade students located abroad. This position offers the opportunity to foster fundamental writing skills crucial for effective communication and literate citizenship in English learners or near-native speakers.
Responsibilities
Educate students on English language structure, including grammar, spelling, sentence construction, paragraph development, and essay writing.
Introduce students to various literary styles and genres.
Develop comprehensive lesson plans, curricula, and supplementary resources that challenge and guide students.
Provide personalized online instruction to meet individual and small group learning needs.
Foster independent thinking and encourage the expression of original ideas.
Create relevant assignments and assessments, including grading student essays and tests.
Assess each student's writing proficiency and track their progress according to course standards.
Maintain regular communication with counselors regarding student progress.
Prepare and distribute student report cards and maintain accurate records.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in education or a related field such as English literature.
State board teaching certification or professional license with an endorsement in English Language Arts.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Relevant Teaching Experience.
Ability to design writing curricula and develop effective lesson plans.
Comfortable working with students of varying skill levels.
Dynamic, articulate, patient, reliable, and professional with a fun-loving demeanor.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in current online teaching technologies.
Additional Information
Job Type: Part-time, Contract
Work Schedule: Typically 1-2 hours per week, scheduled between 6:00am and 9:00am US Eastern Time, Monday to Friday, with possible weekend sessions (mornings and evenings).
Compensation: Commensurate with experience, ranging from $1,500.00 to $10,000.00 per year.
Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience: 5 years of teaching experience preferred.
License/Certification: Teaching Certification preferred.
