Job Description
We are an accredited online language school seeking passionate Japanese Language instructors to teach high school and middle school Japanese courses online. Our students, typically between the ages of 12 and 18, are primarily learning Japanese to fulfill their high school World Language requirements. We offer a range of courses from Middle School and High School Levels 1-6+, as well as conversational and test prep courses.
Our curriculum aligns with the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language standards, and we utilize Can-Do Statements and real-world communication contexts instead of traditional textbooks. Instructors are provided with a Resource Library to guide their teaching but are expected to develop and use their own materials. We embrace Project-Based Learning and do not use quizzes, tests, or exams for assessment.

Responsibilities
Conduct one-on-one online lessons using Microsoft Teams.
Assign and evaluate homework assignments and projects.
Track grades and monitor student progress.
Prioritize student engagement and success.
Show genuine respect for all students.
Requirements
1-2+ years of experience teaching Japanese (online and/or in a school setting).
Native-like proficiency in Japanese.
Bachelor's Degree.
Familiarity with technology and Microsoft Office.
Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills.
Evening availability in the US Pacific Time Zone (PST) preferred.

Teachers are either given an international contract if residing outside the US or a US-based contract for those legally permitted to work in the US. Hourly rates are determined based on teaching experience, education, and other relevant experience.
