Role Overview
Reporting to the Head of Academics and Student Affairs, the Dean of Quest and Specialized Services plays a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing our online school's special education initiatives. This role is crucial in advancing our mission to nurture the potential of every student.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategic Planning:
Lead and manage the Quest program, advocating its value to current and prospective families.
Collaborate with leadership on short and long-term organizational strategies for enhancing Specialized Services.
Develop and implement enrollment strategies to meet program goals.
Student Support And Evaluation
Work closely with admissions to assess candidate suitability and advise on Quest program enrollment.
Evaluate student needs and coordinate necessary accommodations through collaboration with the Testing Coordinator.
Team Management And Professional Development
Recruit, hire, and evaluate Quest teachers, ensuring they are well-equipped to support students effectively.
Facilitate professional development opportunities for Quest faculty to enhance their skills in special education practices.
Communication And Community Engagement
Oversee the design and dissemination of reports detailing student progress and program effectiveness.
Foster understanding of the Quest program across the school community through effective communication and engagement.
Special Testing And EAL Oversight
Manage the Special Testing Coordinator to ensure proper accommodations for external assessments.
Provide oversight for the EAL department coordinator to support English language learners effectively.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Proven ability to work effectively in an online environment.
