Role Overview
As an innovative adjunct faculty member, you'll play a pivotal role in providing high-quality instruction, guidance, and support to upper elementary students within our online classroom environment.
Responsibilities
Curriculum Implementation and Class Structure:
Implement existing curriculum' online learning platforms, adapting and enhancing materials as necessary.
Conduct weekly synchronous sessions (30-35 minutes each) to facilitate student learning, with additional office hours for student support.
Ensure timely grading of assignments (within 24-72 hours) and input final course grades as per guidelines.
Communication
Maintain regular contact with students and their families to keep them informed about classroom activities and student progress, responding promptly to emails.
Foster a supportive learning environment through consistent communication and engagement with students.
Student Engagement And Assessment
Foster student engagement and manage behavior to ensure an inclusive learning environment.
Identify and address individual student needs, collaborating with colleagues as needed to support student success.
Utilize data analysis to inform teaching strategies and tailor instruction to meet student needs effectively.
Miscellaneous
Actively participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and support student learning.
Collaborate with the Academic Dean and Instructional Lead Teacher to analyze student progress data on a monthly basis.
Content Area Teaching Opportunities
Lead instruction in 5th and 6th grade World Language courses.
Qualifications
Knowledge: Bachelor's degree in education or world language (master's preferred), current teaching certificate in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of teaching experience required, with preference given to candidates with previous online teaching experience.
Skills and Abilities: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, exceptional organizational skills, ability to lead with empathy and compassion, commitment to curriculum development and alignment, proficiency in educational technology, collaborative nature, adaptability, and a passion for online education.
Physical Demands
Work primarily performed at a computer workstation; ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
Maintain a positive demeanor, effectively manage conversations in various formats, and work well under pressure.
Successful completion of background check and clearance required.
