We are seeking an enthusiastic, engaging, and reliable Art History teacher to lead one or multiple weekly one-hour Art History classes for 5th to 10th grade level students located abroad (native or near native speakers). This position entails creating a stimulating classroom environment that fosters analytical skills necessary for understanding and appreciating visual arts in their historical context. Additionally, the role involves providing students with comprehensive insights into the development of various artistic styles, techniques, and genres.
Responsibilities
Guide students through the rich history of art, connecting historical traditions and practices to techniques across different epochs.
Educate students about diverse artistic styles, techniques, and genres.
Develop engaging lesson plans, curricula, and supplementary resources that challenge and inspire students.
Deliver personalized online instruction to individuals and small groups to cater to their unique learning needs.
Encourage independent thinking and original expression among students.
Create meaningful assignments that reinforce learning objectives.
Assess each student's artistic proficiency and growth.
Evaluate student progress based on established course standards.
Maintain open communication with counselors regarding student development.
Prepare comprehensive report cards and maintain accurate records of student performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fine Arts, Education, or a related field.
State board teaching certification or professional license with relevant endorsement.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in teaching Art History or related subjects.
Ability to design comprehensive art history curricula and develop effective lesson plans.
Comfort working with students of varying skill levels and backgrounds.
Dynamic, articulate, patient, reliable, fun-loving, and professional demeanor.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in current online teaching technologies.
Additional Details
This is a part-time, contract-based position with compensation based on experience.
Classes are typically scheduled between 6:00am and 9:00am US Eastern Time, Monday to Friday, with potential weekend sessions (morning or evening).
Education And Experience
Bachelor's degree preferred.
License/Certification
Minimum 5 years of teaching experience required.
Teaching Certification preferred.
