Responsibilities
Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' hand and upper extremity function, including range of motion, strength, sensation, and coordination.
Personalized Treatment Plans: Develop individualized treatment plans that address specific hand therapy needs and goals, utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques.
Therapeutic Interventions: Implement a variety of interventions, including exercises, manual therapy, splinting, wound care, and modalities like fluid therapy and electrical stimulation, to improve hand function and pain management.
Patient Education: Educate patients on home exercise programs, proper hand hygiene, and injury prevention techniques.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with physical therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
Qualifications
Required:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in hand therapy.
Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Current and valid state license as an Occupational Therapist in New Hampshire.
Experience in outpatient clinic settings.
Expertise in assessment, discharge, evaluation, plan of care, reassessments, infection prevention, patient and family education, safety and injury prevention, telephone calls, billing, burn/wound management, edema massage, electrical stimulation, fluid therapy, iontophoresis, Kinesio taping, paraffin bath, TENS, and ultrasound.
