Responsible for planning and administering occupational therapy treatment plans designed to alleviate pain, restore function, prevent disabilities, and promote overall fitness and health of patients. Job Responsibilities
Provides skilled occupational therapy treatment plans in accordance with physician orders, current standards of care and by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results of patients.
Design and fabricate splints to protect and improve patient function.
Assures continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing patients, recommending and/or providing assistive equipment; recommending follow-up programs.
Promptly and thoroughly documents and maintains clinical and administrative records regarding patient limitations/interventions, treatments, responses and progress to administered therapy as well as discharge summaries.
Maintain patient records confidentially.
Records treatment charges daily and completes charge tickets in accurate and timely manner.
Provides direction to Occupational Therapy Assistants and Therapy Aides with patient care and related activities as requested.
Complies with the Georgia State Occupational Therapy Act, codes and regulations.
Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols.
Maintain work area, exam rooms and supplies.
Maintain professional appearance and personal conduct at all times.
Follows all of the Company’s policies and procedures.
Adhere to employer work practices as described in TDC Occupational Blood Born Exposure Plan policy.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff and management.
Keep regular clinic hours as approved by Manager.
Attends meetings as requested.
Provides back up for administrative staff to include answering phones, scheduling appointments and checking in patients.
Able to Provide CHT hand services
Requirements
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or similar
Gradate from an accredited physical therapy program
Specialty Certification, Certified Hand Therapist
Current State of Georgia Occupational Therapy license or eligible to receive one
Current CPR certification for Health Care Providers
Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding procedures
Thorough knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices
Ability to build trust with physicians and co-workers
Ability to keep a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work as part of a team
Must be able to work independently
Must be detailed oriented
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skill
Strong sense of discretion and professionalism
Certified Hand Therapist certification
