Focus: The Occupational Health Nurse will work under the direction of the Olin Physician to provide medical care to plant personnel patients within the scope of care and level of licensure in accordance with local treatment guidelines.
Occupational Health Nurse Essential Job Functions:
Administers emergency medical treatment in the case of accident or illness on organization premises and administers ongoing treatments (e.g., dressings, injections) under direction of a physician. Serves as CPR/FA instructor
Assists in administering blood-borne pathogen and CPR programs in accordance with OSHA guidelines. Maintains medical equipment calibrations
Assists the Olin Physician in handling case management (Workers' Comp, STD, LTD) and management of Workers' Compensation (filing first reports, billing, etc.).
Participates in meetings with other plant personnel (HR, EHS) to ensure that employee health and safety is maintained. Administer the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) along with HR.
Assists in administering the medical section of the Substance Abuse Program in accordance with corporate and local guidelines. Performing and tracking safety-sensitive drug, random, for cause, pre-placement and regulatory DOT and NON/DOT, BAT's screening
Maintains CEU's and certifications for licensure, i.e., Environmental, etc.) to ensure health and safety for employees.
Occupational Health Nurse Minimum Requirements:
Associate's degree* in Nursing
5+ years of hospital or floor nursing experience; occupational nursing experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
COHN certification preferred
Certification in audiometry, pulmonary function, breath alcohol for DOT/non-DOT, American Red Cross CPR and first aid instructor, and Certified Collector for DOT and non-DOT urine drug testing preferred
Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
Must maintain professional, open and respectful communication with all employees
